ACID REFLUX SYMPTOMS
I used to suffer from palpitations as a result of acid reflux. It was terrible and I could not get rid of them for a long, long time.These interventions helped me to resolve the palpitations, but I am still working on healing the GI system.
Symptoms of acid reflux include stomach bloating, gastric burning, palpitations, stomach fullness and nausea. Maybe you tested positive for H. pylori which, by the way, is a parasite.
A lifestyle change is needed
Food hygiene and diet
- Thoroughly wash raw veggies and fruits before eating. I use apple cider vinegar to disinfect. The zappicator from bestzapper.com also disinfects.
- Increase intake of veggies - at least 3 cups per day - cooked .
- Reduce intake of processed foods because they do not add value and contain chemicals and other irritants.
- Anti - inflammatory foods like ginger, turmeric, 2 cloves of garlic daily in food, herbs such as thyme, peppermint,
- Reduce fatty foods as they tend to increase bloating and discomfort.

Increase water intake
Divide your weight in pounds by 2 multiplied by 30 to get your daily intake. Boil the water or use spring water. There is a water app on Google Play to remind one to drink water.

- Digestive enzymes
- Omega 3 fatty acids
- a good multivitamin or whole food supplement to provide nutritional support
- One of my doctors recommended Swedish Bitters, but the alcoholic content can irritate. A non - alcoholic version may help. Drink with fruit juice as it tastes somewhat unpleasant. This is why I still have an almost full bottle. I recently found that aloe vera wine is helping to cleanse my system.
Exercise
- Exercise to reduce stress which decreases blood flow to the GI tract and sets up the process of inflammation and reflux. I do Tai Chi. Some exercises that work the core can irritate the reflux by forcing stomach contents backward into the esophagus - as I know from experience.
- I recently began daily Intestinal exercises to increase blood flow and increase digestion. I am beginning to see my lost six pack returning very slowly. I had to stop Pilates as a result since all of the exercises work the core.
Some changes may not be tolerable immediately, but the digestive enzymes and increased veggies helped a lot.
